Wild Rivers water park in Irvine, California, has reopened in a new location ten years after its closure. The water park is now more extensive, with 20 acres and 20 rides. Wild Rivers aims to be Southern California’s premier waterpark for families wanting an affordable thrilling day of water fun.
Rides and Attractions
Shaka Bay wave pool, Castaway River, you around Wild Rivers. Aquaconda tube raft ride, Bora Bora Boomerango raft ride, Tortuga six-person rafts take high-speed twists, Typhoon 20-foot diameter MEGAtubeā¢. Five tube slides: Fuji Falls, Pelican Plunge, Pipeline, Samoan Serpent, and Tiki’s Revenge.
Rounding out the park’s water attractions, there are five body slides. Bombay Blasters, Tala, Mana, Tomcat Racers, and Tahitian Toucan, where guests fall into an 8-foot-deep splash pool. Cooks Cove is for younger children and features an 800-gallon tipping bucket and numerous slides.
The waterpark also features the Pacific Grille restaurant for a quick fill-up between floating down a lazy river or relaxing in a cabana.
Wild Rivers is located in South Orange County off Interstate 5 or Interstate 405 within The Great Park in Irvine. Parking is $25.00 per car and aligns with other Orange County attractions. You can pre-purchase parking and save $5.00. Website.
Water Park History
Wild Rivers first opened in July 1986. The water park was built on the former Lion Country Safari site. The park closed in 2011 after the Irvine Company closed the lease on the land. Today Los Olivos Village is located on the old water park site.
