Southern California Tet festivals are a family-friendly event. Taste fantastic Vietnamese food, listen to music, and enjoy the new year with family and friends.
UVSA Tet Festival is located at the OC Fair & Event Center. Tickets are $8.00 per person—Union of Vietnamese Students Tet Festival (January 27, 28, 29, 2023).
Tet Festival Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley. This event is free. Free street parking, parking fee inside the park. (January 20, 21, 22, 2023)
Southern California Tet Festival Attractions
Southern California Tet Festival draws new visitors from inside and outside the Vietnamese community. Each year the festival draws 100,000 plus visitors. The Tet Festival gets bigger and better each year, so be sure to add the celebration to your to-do list.
Along with Vietnamese food and exhibits, the most anticipated event at the Tet Festival is the Miss Vietnam of Southern California pageant. This event is open to residents of Southern California of some Vietnamese descent who are enrolled in high school or college.
There is also a Children’s pageant for kids ages 4 to 11. Participants wear traditional Vietnamese Traditional clothing and compete for prizes.
Several contests run throughout the three-day event, including best floral arrangement, best photo and video of the Tet Festival, and a very popular Pho Eating Contest.
The highlight of the festival is the Miss Vietnam of Southern California. The contest is for ages 17-26, who live in Southern California, and must be of some Vietnamese descent.

Closer to Little Saigon and more popular is the Mile Square Park Tet Festival held in Fountain Valley. This event is free. Free street parking, parking fee inside the park.

This year there will be only one Tet Festival in Orange County. Last year’s Mile Square Park Fountain Valley festival was a success but due to financial issues, there will no festival at Mile Square Park for 2017.
