Although I understand the struggle of wanting to get close, I also think everyone should be angry at the Getty staff for their concerns about proximity. This type of rule is established in almost all art galleries, especially in one with as many important art pieces as the Getty Villa and Getty Center. Please understand the importance of the job of staff to keep the treasured art safe.

Yes, we’ve gone to several times to Getty across 8 years, with our kids when they were between 4 and 11. The setup and the staff are not kid-friendly. Its obviously that children are seen as a nuisance rather than an important patron segment.

Just a few exits N along the 405, this museum is also premier quality, but designed for families. Before arriving on weekends, you will want to pay for a reserved entry time to Noah’s Ark or other overbooked attractions. General entry is free, but a 2 or 3 attractions require a nominal charge.

Oh I know! I will NEVER go to the Getty Musuem again! This is a horrible place to spend time with your family as they are very rude about you “looking too close” to anything!
